Chemistry March 20 & 21, 2014

OBJECTIVE: Students will learn how to interpret chemical equations I.O.T. determine the quantities involved in a reaction.
W.O.D. Discreet-prudent, inconspicuous.

WARM-UP (chapter 12)
1.What do chemists use balanced equations for?
2.Define the term stoichiometry.

3.Give one way chemists may interpret a chemical reaction.

Home work
1.Write a general equation to represent each of the following types of reaction: Combination, decomposition, single replacement, double replacement, & combustion.
2.Complete #24 on page 339 (classify and balance each equation)
3.Study for a test on March 24 & 25 (writing word, skeleton, balanced equations; types of chemical reactions, stoichiometry)
