Chemistry August 31 & September 1, 2015

OBJECTIVE: Students will describe using examples, the 5 branches of chemistry and discuss the role chemistry plays in improving the quality of life BY CREATING a poster.

Scientists use many ways to gather experimental information, analyze data, formulate theories & laws. Use the internet to define the following terms as they are used in science:
1.Scientific method  
2. Hypothesis
3. Observation

7. Theory

Using the text-book and cell phones create a poster to demonstrate your understanding of the branches of chemistry and the role of chemistry in improving the quality of life.
Use the chart paper found at your desk to create a visual presentation to show your understanding of the topic on the table.
Each group will make a presentation to the class, to provide information on their topic.
#1 Branches of chemistry (all 5 with example for each)
#2 big idea in chemistry (only 1, with 2 example)
#3 chemistry and medicine & biotechnology (1 example)
