Biology exit assignment




Write a compilation report using the assessment statements outlined below showing understanding all biological processes including social interactions.

Option E
a.     Assessment statements E.1.1 to E.1.4. The primary concerns are knowing the definition for stimulus, response, reflex action in context of animal behavior. [4]
b.     Know an example of an animal behavior that has changed as a result of natural selection.
c.      Assessment statements E.2.1 to E.2.7. Know the structure and function of the ear and eye in detail [7]
d.     Innate and learned behavior, assessment statements E.3.1 to E.3.6. Know how to design an experiment to show the difference between taxis and kinesis. [6]
e.     Know specific examples of innate and learned behavior.
f.      Assessment statements E.4.1 to E.4.6-synaptic transmission and how different neurotransmitters (including psychoactive drugs) affect synaptic transmission. Know 3 specific examples of excitatory and 3 examples of inhibitory psychoactive drugs. [6]
g.     Structure and function of major parts of the brain. Assessment statements E.5.1 to E.5.7. Know the difference between parasympathetic and sympathetic control. [7]
h.     Assessment statements E.6.1 to E.6.7-social organization of the honeybee or chimpanzees. Evolution of altruistic behavior. [7]

2.     Option H-further human physiology. We have done bits and pieces of this topic when we covered each of these sub-topics during the year. Review this option by focusing on the assessment statements for this chapter.
3.     If you do not like the 2 options that I have selected, then you are free to choose which 2 options you want to study. Again, use the assessment statements as your guide.

  
Scoring rubric
Each set of assessment statements has a set# pts. (# found at the end of each set of assessment statements). For option E ,the max number of points possible is 37pts.. You must complete a minimum of 29pt ( a combination of 7,7,6,5,4,)
