CHEMISTRY DEC. 12 & 13, 2018

OBJECTIVE: Students will complete a lab activity in order to determine the density of several objects.

W.O.D.: Accolade-tribute; honor

WARM-UP
1. Define density and write the formula used to calculate density.
2. What is “displacement of water”? Describe how to measure the volume of an irregular shaped object.

CW-lab work
Purpose-To determine the density of 3 objects

Material: 2 regular shaped objects, 1 irregular shaped object, lab scale, ruler

Procedure: Write the steps you took to complete this activity using passive voice and past tense.

Data table: Record all of your measurements in a table with the correct units

Calculations: Show the volume and density calculations for all 3 objects

Conclusion: Is density an extensive or intensive property? Explain.
