CHEMISTRY DEC. 1 & 4, 2017

OBJECTIVE: Students will create an outline of the periodic table in order to show the various was information is displayed on the table.

1. Give the groups on the periodic table that corresponds to the following: s, p, d, & f blocks.
2. An element has an electron configuration of  1s22s22p63s23p4     Give the group, period, block, & name for this element.

Show your understanding of the arrangement of the elements on the periodic table by creating a poster to show the location of the
 following: Remember to make a key to help understand the
 various colors used on your poster
A.     Alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, halogens, rare gases, transition metals

C.     Metals, non-metals, metalloids
D.    Use the following electron configurations to place the chemical symbol for the element correctly (group and period) on your table:

5.     Overall attractiveness = 6 pts.
