OBJECTIVE: Students will complete a quick lab to determine the age and factors that may affects its growth.

WARM-UP
How is the age of a tree determined?

CW-
1. Complete the quick lab on page 334 and give your answers on loose-leaf paper. 
2.  Use the cross-section of a tree in the lab and give the age of the tree it came from.
3. Make a diagram of the cross-section, select two areas that show a difference in growth rate, show these areas on your diagram and give a possible explanation for the difference.
