OBJECTIVE: Students will determine the key steps in the carbon cycle.

WARM-UP
1. Write 2 facts that know about the carbon cycle.
2. Write 1 question you have about the carbon cycle.

In your notebooks complete the following:
1. After viewing the video write a paragraph summarizing the information presented in the video. Be       specific with examples in your summary.
2. State the law of conservation of matter. Show how this law can be applied to the carbon cycle.


Individual work (graded as an assessment)
Use PowerPoint or Prezi, to create a presentation on the carbon cycle. Include the following terms in your cycle:
Producers, consumers, decomposers, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, carbon in the oceans, carbon sediments, human activities. 
In your presentation, show the role you play in the carbon cycle.

Due date: 10/17/18 (b day) and 10/18/18 (a day)

Scoring rubric

Include the following terms in your cycle:

1. Producers, consumers, decomposers, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, carbon in the oceans, carbon sediments, human activities. (2 pts each, when clearly defined and accurately shown in the cycle. 16 pts)

2. In your presentation, show the role you play in the carbon cycle. (Include, respiration, excretion, feeding, & finding shelter) 8 pts.

3. Appearance of presentation & overall flow-colorful and lots of illustrations- 6 pts
