1. Discuss the functions of each of the following: (a) B-cells (b) Helper T-cells (c) cytotoxic T-cells
2. Explain why antibiotics have no affect on viral infections.

Study for a test on ventilation & gas exchange and immunity to infectious diseases, on Jan. 24th 

Explain the relationship between HIV and AIDS. What are the ways HIV can be transmitted from person to person? What are the symptoms of HIV/AIDS? What are the treatments available for treating HIV/AIDS? Are there individuals who are immune HIV/AIDS? Explain how this is possible.

Understanding the nervous systemDescribe the organization of the human nervous system: 
include the components and function for CNS and PNS; 3 types of neurons (use annotated diagrams): myelinated and non-myelinated fibers.
Describe the resting potential of a neuron (describe the charge on the internal and external membrane and the distribution of the molecules/ions on the inside and outside of a neuron)
What is a nerve impulse and describe the initiation and propagation of an action potential. Include depolarization, repolarization, & hyperpolarization.
Structure and function of chemical synapses.
