WARM-UP
1. Explain what each of the following means: (a) electrons are in the ground state.
2. Electrons are in the excited state.
HW
Prepare and organize your notes for a test on atomic structure (chapter 4 & 5) on Wednesday 11/30/16 (b day) and Thursday 12/1/16 (A day).
CW
In order to prepare for the test, complete the following in your note-books and bring your books to the teacher to receive credit for today.
1. What are valence electrons?
2. Write electron configurations for each of the following elements, underline the valence level and give the number of valence electrons in each case: He, Li, B, N, F, Mg, S, Ar, Ca, Ni, Fe, Zn, Ge, & I
3. How are emission spectra produced?
4. Using fig. 5.12, explain hoe each of the following emissions are produced: (a) Lyman series (b) Balmer series (c) Paschen series
This blog will provide basic information about my chemistry and environmental sc. classes. It will contain warm-ups, words of the day, an outline of classworks, special projects, and home works for each day. In addition it will contain relevant information connected with my classes in general. Make it a habit of visiting this blog regularly as there will be times that I will mention things here but not in class. ALSO REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR CLASS' RESOURCE PAGE.
