Chemistry March 3 & 4 , 2015

OBJECTIVE: Students will use the mole to determine the mass in a specified amount of matter by completing examples in their note books.
W.O.D. Molar volume-the volume occupied by 1 mole of a gas
WARM-UP
Using the 5 samples on the lab bench, record the chemical formula & mass of 1 mole of each sample.
1.If each sample represents 1 mole, why are the masses (amount of sample) different?

2.How many representative particles are there in each sample?

OBJECTIVE: Students will use the mole to determine the volume of a gas by completing examples in their note-books.
W.O.D. Molar volume-the volume occupied by 1 mole of a gas at STP.
WARM-UP
