OBJECTIVE: Students will 1. complete a short lab 2. view microscopic slides I.O.T. make drawings of various structures of the circulatory system.

1.Why are the walls of the atria thinner than the walls of the ventricles?
2.Why is the left ventricle wall thicker than the right ventricle wall?

Study for evaluation of digestive and circulatory systems

Classwork
1. mini lab-factors affecting heart rate
2. Use the microscope to view and make biological drawings of:
a.cardiac muscle
b.Cross-section of an artery, vein, and capillary
c.Normal human blood cells
d.Sickle red cells.
All drawings must have a title, magnification, and labels and drawn according to the hand-out on biological drawings.
