1. Describe the role played by the skin and mucus membranes in preventing pathogens from attacking the body.

Make notes on the following:(show work before leaving class)
1.The body has 3 lines of defense to prevent invasion of microorganisms. Name these lines of defense and explain how they work.
2.What are antibodies and explain how they exert their effects on pathogens.
3.Explain how antibiotics work and explain why viruses are not affected by antibiotics
4.If an individual is immune to a disease, explain what this means and show how this is possible.
